New Wave respects the personal information entrusted to it.
Information we collect
We collect personal information you give us directly, which may include:
- your name and contact details;
- delivery and billing addresses;
- order details and correspondence with us;
- information you provide when you sign up to our mailing list or apply for Locals Only.
We also collect limited technical information automatically when you visit the website, such as your device type, browser and the pages you view.
How we use information
- to process, pack and deliver your orders;
- to handle returns, exchanges and consumer guarantee claims;
- to answer your enquiries and provide support;
- to run Locals Only, where you have applied;
- to send marketing communications where you have consented;
- to improve the website and our products;
- to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
Orders & payments
Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. Your card details are entered directly with the payment provider and handled under their systems and terms.
New Wave does not store your full card number. We receive only the information needed to identify and fulfil your order, such as confirmation of payment and the last digits of the card where provided.
Locals / member information
If you apply for Locals Only, we collect the information you submit as part of that application and use it to assess and administer your membership, and to contact you about member access, product and local days. You can ask us to remove you from Locals Only communications at any time.
Marketing
We only send marketing emails where we have an appropriate lawful basis to do so. Buying something or creating an account does not on its own sign you up to marketing.
Every marketing message includes a working unsubscribe. You can also ask us to stop at any time and we'll action it.
Third-party providers
We share personal information with service providers who help us run the business — for example our ecommerce platform, payment providers, delivery carriers, email and analytics providers.
We share only what those providers need in order to perform their service for us, and we require them to protect it. We do not sell your personal information.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled consistently with this policy.
Access & correction
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it's wrong or out of date. We'll verify your identity before acting on the request.
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected and to meet our legal obligations, then take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
Privacy complaints
If you think we've mishandled your personal information, contact us and we'll investigate and respond to you.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can refer your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security of information sent to us over the internet.
